Govt. Dr. Indrajeet Singh College is situated 22 km. away from Janjgir –Champa Head Quarter and at 3 km. from Akaltara railway station at Khisora Road. This College is away from hustle & bustle of city life and running in its own building. It was founded on 10 August 1983. Earlier it was running in the building of Rajendra Nagar Singh Higher Secondary School, Akaltara by College Education Trust from 1983 to 02.07.1994 with limited resources. This College was allotted 16 acres of land by the Government on 03.07.1994.
At present the College conducts UG courses in B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. And PG in Economics /Pol. Sc./Sociology/Hindi Lit./Maths./Chem./Commerce. This College has become a center of education for the students craving for knowledge. All the streams are well managed and handled by the educated, experienced and dedicated Professors.
