COLLEGE AT A GLANCE
Govt. Dr. Indrajeet Singh College is situated 22 km. away from Janjgir –Champa Head Quarter and at 3 km. from Akaltara railway station at Khisora Road. This College is away from hustle & bustle of city life and running in its own building. It was founded on 10 August 1983. Earlier it was running in the building of Rajendra Nagar Singh Higher Secondary School, Akaltara by College Education Trust from 1983 to 02.07.1994 with limited resources. This College was allotted 16 acres of land by the Government on 03.07.1994.

At present the College conducts UG courses in B.A./B.Com./B.Sc./DCA And PG in Economics/Pol. Sc./Sociology/Hindi Lit./Maths./Chem./Physi/Commerce/PGDCA. This College has become a center of education for the students craving for knowledge. All the streams are well managed and handled by the educated, experienced and dedicated Professors.
At the beginning the strength of the students was less but it rose steadily. Despite opening of private colleges nearby, the strength crossed 700 in 2012 -2013 and will multiply these figures in the coming years.

We feel proud to add that the State Government christened this college after the name of renowned citizen of Akaltara Dr. Indrajeet singh in June 2008.

Many alumni of this college are playing an important role in different social, political, industrial, business and administrative departments. The college is working hard to assimilate new courses in the coming time.
